NTA Energy Solutions Corporation has completed the upgrading of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquition (SCADA) System of Angeles Electric Corporation using the NovaTech Orion Automation Platform and the Bitronics Measurement and Recording Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs).
For the new Milenyo Substation, SCADA Equipment was upgraded from the OrionLX (Standard) Automation Platform which was installed last 2013 to the OrionLXm Automation Platform which was three times more processing power than the originally installed Remote Terminal Unit (RTU).
For the new Petersville Substation, SCADA Equipment was upgraded from the OrionLX (Standard) Automation Platform which was installed last 2012 to the OrionLX+ Automation Platform. Unlike the OrionLX, the OrionLX+ has 10-20 times the processing power which is beneficial for system critical activities that need immediate response.
SCADA Input and Output devices were also upgraded from the Orion Distributed Discrete Input / Output (DDIO) to the Orion I/O which implements a more secure platform especially in compliance with CyberSecurity rules and requirements of the end user.
Substation Meters for both the new Milenyo Substation and new Petersville Substation was upgraded from the Bitronics M571 Meters to the Bitronics M871 Meters which has an upgraded processor and RAM for faster and smoother data collection and data transfer to SCADA Systems. Bitronics M871 Meters also implement a Modular Case/System for easier upgrade paths for the end user.
Lastly, we are one with the suppliers and contractors of Angeles Electric Corporation in wishing a Happy 99th Year Anniversary to Angeles Electric Corporation.
The anniversary was celebrated in conjunction to the Blessing and Inauguration of the New Petersville and New Milenyo Substation.
