The Orion family supports all substation automation applications—RTU, HMI, Math & Logic, Tile Annunciation, SOE Recording, FLISR, and more—in a rugged platform that can be redundant.

The Distribution Grid Monitor (DGM) provides fast, accurate power and fault measurements along the distribution feeder at voltages up to 35kV and reports them back to EMS/DMS using DNP3. The DGM solution is provided with high accuracy Lindsey Low Energy Analog (LEA) sensors which enable quick installation without taking an outage.

With solutions partner Watts Marine, NovaTech provides a clean alternative to the onboard diesel-generated electric power for ships in harbor. Watts Marine systems with Orion and Bitronics products enable dockside electric power to be quickly and safely connected to the ship.

NovaTech is working with Intel to produce a virtual “OrionVX”. The plan is for the Orion processes–Math & Logic, Alarming, HMI, protocols, etc.–to run in a VMware virtual machine on a standard industrial server.
